Role Summary/Purpose

Participate in the design of industrial x-ray equipment at GE Inspection Technologies.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Design of mechanical parts, components and assemblies particularly for X-ray tubes, HV generators and radiography accessories

  • Creation and/or update of mechanical drawings

  • Creation and maintenance of Bill of Material and Material Master

  • Design, test and qualification of radiography related manufacturing tools

  • Creation of Manufacturing Documents (Work Desk Instructions) and product-related quality documents

  • Sourcing of prototypes, supplier communication

  • Support of supplier qualification process

  • Strong participation in testing of prototypes

  • Participation and support of engineering change process (ECR)

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Mechanical Engineering degree

  • Advanced use of Solid Works

  • Experience with properties and processing of araldite/epoxy material/ metal ceramics

  • Experience with surface properties and surface manufacturing techniques

  • Basic understanding of ERP systems (SAP)

  • Communication skills in German and English both oral and written
