This announcement is to recruit for a FITNESS PROGRM SPECIALIST that will serve as an instructor at the Wiesbaden Fitness Center. This is an intermittent position that guarantees 00 hours and does not provide logistical support. The annual salary in this announcement reflects a 40 hour work week. The hourly rate for this position is $20.00 per hour.
This position is in Directorate of Moral, and Welfare, located in Wiesbaden, Germany. Wiesbaden is without a doubt one of the most attractive cities in Germany. The capital city of Hessen is sometimes referred to as "Nice of the North" and rightfully so considering the many mansions, the historic Kurhaus, the casino and the State Theater. Wiesbaden has been well known as a great spa city since ancient times. It has 27 hot, saline springs and its mild climate and park-like setting continue to make it a popular resort and conference center. Wiesbaden is a city with an abundance of leisure activities, providing a cosmopolitan atmosphere blended with an attractive cultural ambiance, extraordinary architecture and marked by endearing charm. Wiesbaden, located in one of the premier wine growing areas in Germany, is on the Rhine River only 20 minutes from the Frankfurt International Airport. Serves as a Fitness Program Specialist and works for the Installation Fitness Program Manager.
Implements safe and effective fitness programs ensuring diversity and appropriateness to post and individual needs. Conducts fitness classes based on customer demand (i.e. circuit weight training and cardiovascular training). Counsels individuals and groups on the importance of fitness and wellness programs and the adaptation to everyday life through personal contacts with structured programs. Provides and/or assists in classes in such things as proper exercise techniques, proper use of equipment to prevent injuries, safety measures, aerobics, stretching, heart and blood pressure monitoring, nutrition, and weight management.
Understands proper layout of fitness equipment and advises on new procurement to meet standards and customer demands. Stays abreast of current trends in fitness equipment and delivery techniques. Walks the fitness rooms to ensure safe and effective training is conducted. Conducts classes in and adheres to injury prevention techniques. Assists with outreach with unit to support fitness regimens for physical training.

Minimum Qualified Criteria
**Possesses directly related work experience that includes the demonstrated ability in the delivery of safe and effective fitness programs. This experience must demonstrate skill in conducting fitness programs for a diverse population understanding the various health risks contained therein. Has the knowledge of and ability to apply the principles, methods and techniques in an individual or group setting. Or Successful completion of an undergraduate or graduate degree in related fields such as physical education or kinesiology.
Highly Qualified Criteria
Possess a Group Fitness Certification and/or Personal Fitness Certificate. Certificate must be upload for verification purposes.
Conditions of Employment:
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Meet all qualification/eligibility requirements.
- A completed and signed copy DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty.
Appointment is subject to completion of a favorable background checks/investigation to determine suitability for this position.
Possesses and maintains the following certifications: CPR, First Aid, & AED; Nationally Recognized Basic Fitness Trainer Certification (National Strength and Conditioning Association; Cooper Institute of Aerobic Research; American Council on Exercise; American College of Sports Medicine).
- Must complete the following course(s)/class within six months of employment: Customer Service; MWR Orientation Course; Equipment (Safe Operation and Basic Maintenance Repair).
