AbbVie Director Public Affairs (m/f) in Wiesbaden, Germany


  • Lead Corporate and Brand Communication for AbbVie Germany across sites and brands
  • Serve as an active member of the cross-functional (R&D, operations and commercial) management board
  • Manage a department of 10 co-workers
  • Develop affiliate and brands communication plans, in collaboration with brand and management teams
  • Actively grow reputation of the company through strategic planning, providing counsel to senior management and driving citizenship activities
  • Analyze the communications environment and gather deep stakeholder insights to inform affiliate objective setting and anticipate stakeholder reactions to business decisions
  • Provide direction to change management processes and lead internal communications
  • Align the key internal and external communication messages across brands and functions to minimize risk of conflict or inconsistency
  • Identify, anticipate, and manage local issues and ensure crisis management procedures are in place
  • Build relationships with key public, media and organizational stakeholders that strengthen the ability of the company to deliver messages
  • Lead media management


  • Masters Degree, preferably in public relations, Communications or other communications-related major
  • Significant experience in a high-level communications environment in business, government or public relations agency
  • At least 2 years of healthcare/ life science/ pharma experience
  • Experience in leading a team
  • Experience communicating with diverse stakeholder groups
  • Experience of managing internal communications
  • Experience of managing corporate reputation, citizenship, crisis planning and company values
  • Experience overseeing multi-level staff PR agencies
  • Experience of acting as a spokesperson
  • Knowledge of legal regulations concerning communication in a regulated environment
