SAP’s Global Procurement Organization (GPO) is a matrix organization using a Category Procurement and Regional Procurement for LATAM and APJ which is built on a foundation of strong procurement and a shared service center concept.

Within GPO’s Category Procurement, the Category Procurement IT team is accountable for the definition and execution of global category strategies in close collaboration with the business owners (Line of Business), Global Legal, Global Controlling, etc.

We are seeking a Procurement Senior Specialist / Expert with a good background in data center and cloud related infrastructure services.


  • Understand and willingness to become fluent with data center and cloud related infrastructure services

  • Develop partnerships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to align on immediate as well as long term goals

  • Continuously analyze and seek opportunities for improvement

  • Collaborate with the wider sourcing team to implement and support sourcing strategies that ensure best value for SAP

  • Negotiate and resolve disputes with suppliers.

  • Pro-actively conduct market analysis / market screenings benchmarking, track market trends and manage supplier performance

  • Perform supplier capability assessments

  • Develop and manage supplier portfolios and undertake supplier negotiations through relationship-building to maximize business benefits

  • Identify opportunities for increased competitive bidding, smarter supplier relationships and more efficient procurement processes

  • Support the development and execution of RFX’s, manage requirements including pricing negotiations

  • Negotiate agreements e.g. in the area of Data Center Co-Location services (Power and Space) as well as resource services related to Data Center Cloud Infrastructure and work with SAP requesters to ensure appropriate contract approvals are obtained and documented.

  • Support other areas of the sourcing team including projects as needed.

  • Drives all procurement related activities around data center and cloud infrastructure related services.

  • Ensure compliance to the SAP Global Purchasing Policy and maintain all necessary documents to ensure transparency and audit compliance


  • University degree preferably in Business Administration, Information Technology, IT Engineering or a related field

  • Project Management skills

  • Analytical skills and supportive attitude

  • Flexibility, readiness of mind and sense of responsibility

  • Oral and written communication and presentation skills

  • Requires a balance of assertiveness, tact and diplomacy

  • Knowledge of purchasing systems (Ariba), MS office applications and purchasing processes

  • Fluent English (spoken, written), other languages such as German are highly desirable

  • Ability to work in international teams and virtual environment

  • Interest to participate in projects

  • Seasoned presentation skills


  • At least 6 years’ experience in strategic and or tactical procurement within indirect procurement environments, ideally in a multinational environment

  • Experience in managing business requirements and to translate them into actionable procurement activity

  • Ability to apply purchasing knowledge to execute sourcing projects

  • Familiarity with data center build-outs, hardware, network, and data center certifications.

  • Experience leading successful execution and delivery of strategy

  • Global experience preferred

  • Ability to establish clear priorities and effectively manage multiple demand and time resources
