PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

Changed business requirements often result in the realignment of a company’s business or corporate structure, which can be reflected in various IT-based activities: Consolidation, harmonization and optimization of processes, reorganization of corporate structures as well as reduction of IT-complexity help to realize our customer’s business goals. The portfolio of the Data Management & Landscape Transformation group as part of the Digital Business Services, Global Center of Expertise (DBS-CoE) perfectly supports the evolving needs of our customers in a challenging economic environment while minimizing technology driven business disruption.

We, the SAP Data Management & Landscape Transformation (DM<) team, serve SAP customers to better manage their data and transform their IT landscape in a digital world. Our offerings are based on two pillars:

  • End-to-end data management and landscape transformation services including roadmap, advisory, execution, and safeguarding.

  • Software products, innovative tools, and technologies for scalable solutions to implement – business-driven, innovation-driven, or TCO-driven transformation requirements and (real-time) data provisioning needs, e.g. the SAP Landscape Transformation software (SAP LT) and the SAP Test Data Migration Server (TDMS) and the SAP LT Replication Server for HANA or technologies like the Near-Zero Downtime technique supporting our very large customers in their System Conversion to S/4HANA.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

As a member of the product management team you act as a subject matter expert with various responsibilities for inbound and outbound product management tasks. Your main goal is to strive for a scalable usage of our products and tools in the software and our service business.

In this role, you influence the product strategy, contribute in the product definition and operationalize the rollout to ensure a scale knowledge transfer to key internal and external stakeholders.

To achieve this, you need a strong customer / end-user centric attitude but also solid analytical and technical skills in combination with good strategic thinking and the ability to work conceptually.

In alignment with (Chief) Product and Solution Owners and Sales Support, you build action plans and take operational decisions for your area of responsibility.

As an experienced team-player, you focus on:

  • Materialize our strategy for parts of the product portfolio, for example dedicated use cases of SAP LT Replication server or the S/4H Migration Cockpit

  • Contribute in various aspects of product definition and complementing development tasks such as testing or UI reviews

  • Coordinating the GoTo Market with the Sales Support / Communications and Marketing team, for example facilitating the creation of sales related material

  • Lead and operationalize all rollout and enabling activities for the responsible product area, create relevant rollout / enabling material and conduct training sessions

  • Providing a rollout infrastructure, build communities and networks across organizations to scalable knowledge – for example connecting people via Jam Groups or moderate SAP SCN pages

  • Supporting customer-facing activities such as customer / partner workshops or events such as TechEd

  • Facilitate commercial and legal aspects – especially in case of a new product launch

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree

  • Proven SAP product management competencies (or similar customer-facing role)

  • Collaborate in a multi-cultural development environment with various stakeholders

  • Strong network within the SAP organization

  • Solid knowledge about SAP Applications and Technologies

  • High degree of self-motivation

  • MUST: Strong communication skills in both German and English

WORK EXPERIENCE

At least 3 years of working experience in a SAP software development team – ideally acting as Senior Product Specialist or Product Expert dealing with Landscape Transformation topics

The position can be also filled as part time position
