SAP’s Global Procurement Organization (GPO) is a matrix organization using a Category Procurement and Regional Procurement for LATAM and APJ which is built on a foundation of strong procurement and a shared service center concept.

Within GPO’s Category Procurement, the Category 3rd Party Non-Billable team is accountable for the definition and execution of global category strategies in close collaboration with the business owners (Line of Business), Global Legal, Global Controlling, etc.

We are seeking a Procurement Specialist with a good background in Product Related Services (i.e Application Consulting, Development, Testing, Technical Writing) & IT Infrastructure / Support Services procurement to support SAP’s internal procurement requirements.


  • Understand and willingness to become fluent with product related services and infrastructure / support requirements of key-stakeholders from a commercial and technical perspective

  • Continuously analyze and seek opportunities for improvement

  • Collaborate with the wider sourcing team to implement and support sourcing strategies that ensure best value for SAP

  • Negotiate and resolve disputes with suppliers.

  • Pro-actively conduct market analysis / market screenings benchmarking, track market trends and manage supplier performance

  • Perform supplier capability assessments

  • Develop and manage supplier portfolios and undertake supplier negotiations through relationship-building to maximize business benefits

  • Identify opportunities for increased competitive bidding, smarter supplier relationships and more efficient procurement processes

  • Support the development and execution of RFI’s, RFX’s, manage requirements including pricing negotiations

  • Negotiate agreements (i.e. in the area of services with use of Master Agreements, General Terms and Conditions, SOWs) with suppliers and work with SAP requesters to ensure appropriate contract approvals are obtained and documented.

  • Drives all procurement related activities around 3rd Party services engagements in a self driven and independent way with a strong quality and customer focus.

  • Support other areas of the sourcing team including projects as needed.

  • Ensure compliance to the SAP Global Purchasing Policy and maintain all necessary documents to ensure transparency and audit compliance


  • University degree preferably in Business Administration, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field

  • Ability to apply purchasing knowledge to execute sourcing projects

  • Ability to leverage fluency and experience with software terms and conditions

  • Ability to establish clear priorities and effectively manage multiple demand and time resources

  • Demonstrated Project Management skills

  • Analytical skills and supportive attitude

  • Flexibility, readiness of mind and sense of responsibility

  • Oral and written communication and presentation skills

  • Requires a balance of assertiveness, tact and diplomacy

  • Knowledge of purchasing systems (Ariba), MS office applications and purchasing processes

  • Fluent English and German (spoken, written), other languages are welcome

  • Ability to work in international teams and virtual environment

  • Interest to participate in projects

  • Seasoned presentation skills


  • At least 6 years’ experience in strategic and or tactical procurement within indirect procurement environments, ideally in a multinational environment

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and to crystalize business requirements and to translate them into actionable procurement activity

  • Proven experience leading successful execution and delivery of strategy

  • Global experience preferred
