PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

As part of Business Innovation and IT, the IT Services – Enterprise Data Management Technology department is responsible for Master Data Governance and Data Integration in hybrid cloud - on premise landscapes across the key master data entities like e.g. Central Business Partner (Customer/Supplier, Product).

Here we act as the Business’ trusted advisor and expert, driving together the simplification of business processes based on a user-centric approach. In a joint responsibility with the respective business teams, we identify strategic priorities, determine the portfolio and corresponding execution plans.

In addition IT Services - EDM Technology works jointly together on innovative solutions with our SAP P&I development units. With our solutions we create success-stories and best practices also for the external market to showcase our solutions at external events and sales activities under the umbrella of “SAP runs SAP” within the Business Innovation & IT organization.

We are hiring a Senior Solution Architect, to join the EDM Technology team, who will lead technical implementation of Material Master and Master Data Governance for Materials (MDG-M) based delivery in the context of e.g. the S/4HANA implementation roadmap at SAP.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

We see as main responsibilities:

  • Designing, implementing, testing and maintaining first class IT solutions within our S/4HANA and Master Data Governance for Materials (MDG-M) product portfolio with openness for new technologies in a co-innovation environment e.g. MDG evolvement as part of the new Digital Core (e.g. Fiori, UI5)

  • HANA Enterprise Information Management (EIM) as technology for Data Governance solutions

  • Collaboration on next-generation platform topics (YaaS/HCP).

  • Run successful projects by delivering sustainable solutions leveraging existing and new

  • innovative SAP solutions in the area of Master Data Governance and Master data Management.

  • Solid software development skills with a passion to build quality applications.

  • Data replication to/from CRM/ERP (S/4HANA) and/or other data sources to a MDG hub

  • Accountability, delivery of the assigned tasks on time, ensuring high quality and high performance.

  • Work in an agile development environment which requires the individual to be self-driven, take decisions independently and be flexible in order to cater to demand.

  • Partner with our business counterparts as “One Team” from initiation to execution for respective processes and projects

  • Plan and execute handover of project deliverables in his/her area of responsibility to IT application operations, who covers the day to day application maintenance & support.

  • Drive innovation and early adoption of new technologies and solutions in close cooperation with our development areas and other teams within Business Innovation & IT.

  • Perform high-level analysis of customer business processes and requirements to support project evaluations with proposed solutions, as well as to create solution specifications for complex and large projects

  • Technical/application assessments for projects and change requests in terms of feasibility, effort, risk

  • Define & architect the design for solutions

  • Implementation of the solutions designed independently or in collaboration with other Developers

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required skills:

  • Bachelor or master degree in computer science or a related discipline

  • Profound knowledge on ERP Material Master (MM) and SD data model (Sales, Order to Cash related processes incl. Pricing)

  • Profound knowledge on Master Data Governance for Materials (MDG-M)

  • MDG Solution Knowledge including e.g. BRF , Floorplan Manager, Workflow, Data Replication Framework (DRF)

  • Strong SAP HANA Application Development including thorough SQL skills, database procedures, calculated views etc.

  • Advanced programming skills (ABAP, ABAP OO, Java, Javascript)

  • Good Knowledge on Integration of various systems/data sources (SAP integration and middleware technologies)

  • Experience with Web Services / O-Data Services

  • Solid knowledge on data replication to/from ERP/MDG and/or other data sources

  • Development experience on SAPUI5/FIORI as a plus

  • Development experience on HANA Cloud Platform (HCP) as a plus

  • Experience in agile application development (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) beneficial

  • Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to new tasks/ challenges

  • Ability to independently identify and solve problems at hand

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work conceptually

  • Willingness to fulfill development tasks

  • Willingness to support the entire Master Data Governance process within Enterprise Data Management Technology solution portfolio

  • Constructive and open style of communication as a team player

  • Excellent English and German language skills - written and verbal

WORK EXPERIENCE

A successful candidate has 5 years of professional experience with 3 years leading innovation or adoption of SAP ERP and MDG-M solutions. Walldorf as location is possible.
