SAP's Business Insights & Technology (BIT) is a critical enabler of our business success by providing advanced and efficient IT solutions, technology and operational support to our internal Clients. Supporting more than 120,000 users and thousands of SAP systems, BIT is responsible for SAP's worldwide IT infrastructure and operation of our internal business applications.

SAP IT Services is the unit within BIT, which is responsible for delivering business applications be it classical SAP or new SaaS solutions, mobile apps, Web & Hana Cloud Platform-based applications, as well as client technology services covering hardware, client software and unified communication solutions.

As part of IT Services, the Identity and Access Management (IAM) Team helps defining SAP’s future Identity and Access Management strategy that enables SAP employees (and partners) to access the right resources (SAP Applications) at the right time for the right reasons.

The department is working out of a central hub in Walldorf and Berlin, together with contributions out of the regions.

Our Key Objective is to:

Build and Run Simple & User-Centric Identity & Access Management at SAP.

To achieve this ambitious goal we established different sub-teams that closely collaborate:

  • The IAM Application Authorization Services Team takes care about the Authorization demand for the entire IT Application Areas. This includes our core business systems (e.g. SAP-NetWeaver, ERP, CRM, Analytics, HCP and HANA)


The requirement is to become an IAM Team member understanding, implementing and supporting the entire IAM Product and Service Portfolio. You must be able to evaluate different technologies, understand market trends and being able to facilitate discussions across various teams (build, run, business, Solution Architects, Development etc.). Specifically we are looking for someone able and willing to further develop our IAM Processes and Products in a highly agile environment.

You will be working in the Identity and Access Management team, reporting directly to the Head of IAM.


  • Conceptual design and implementation of SAP Authorization Solutions with focus on SAP HANA Authorization Management in terms of Operation and Implementation Tasks

  • Resolve complex authorization issues

  • Design and deploy Authorization concepts

  • Create, deliver and manage authorization services for customer

  • Realization of complex programming requirements (SQL and/or ABAP/CDS and/or JavaScript)

  • Leverage knowledge of SAP HANA and software development methodologies to facilitate technical implementations

  • Act as trusted advisor for partner, lines of business and global operations teams

  • Manage Partner Relationship

  • Operational reporting and management

  • Deal with security concepts, SOX and Profile Administration processes


  • Bachelor Degree in Information Technology or equivalent degree.

  • High service and customer orientation

  • Excellent SAP HANA solution and technology knowledge is required, as well as expert knowledge in SAP authorization concepts

  • Good Knowledge in complex SQL and/or CDS and/or JavaScript programming

  • Sound Knowledge in ABAP programming

  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills

  • Basic Understanding in SAP HANA Cloud and related technologies (like Cloud Foundry, HANA XS Classic/Advance and HANA DI)

  • Interpersonal skills: team player, proactive networking attributes, results and execution focus, motivated to work in an international and intercultural environment and to effectively work in complex matrix environment

  • Fluent in English and German
