SAP’s Global Procurement Organization (GPO) is a matrix organization using a Category Procurement and Regional Procurement for LATAM which is built on a foundation of strong procurement and a shared service center concept.

Within GPO’s Category Procurement, the Category Procurement IT team is accountable for the definition and execution of global category strategies in close collaboration with the business owners (Line of Business), Global Legal, Global Controlling, etc.

We are seeking a Procurement Senior Specialist with a good background in global IT Hardware and Managed Services infrastructure procurement.


  • Solid understanding of specific IT Server & Storage (cloud) infrastructure and Managed Service requirements of key-stakeholder from a commercial and technical perspective of global companies

  • Collaborate with the wider sourcing teams to guide and implement sourcing strategies that ensure best value for SAP

  • Develop a strong relationship with (internal) customers and external suppliers

  • Control pro-actively market analysis / market screenings benchmarking, track market trends and manage supplier performance

  • Perform supplier capability assessments

  • Being a professional business partner to your Line of Business, ensuring that advise and plans are considered

  • Initiate and lead procurement related RPFs, projects and activities. Support cross category initiatives

  • Execute self-reliant sourcing activities, negotiations, establish global contracts and manage supplier relationships for assigned projects and suppliers

  • Define requirements and lead the process of identifying, qualifying, and selecting the respective suppliers

  • Ensure and support compliance to the SAP Global Purchasing Policy and maintains all necessary documents to ensure transparency and proof audit compliance


  • University degree preferably in Master of Science, Information Technology, IT Engineering or a related field

  • Essential understanding of international business law

  • Solid Project Management skills

  • Good Analytical skills and supportive attitude

  • Flexibility and readiness of mind and sense of responsibility

  • Skills to establish clear priorities and effectively manage multiple demand and time resources

  • Very good communication and presentation skills

  • Requires good balance of assertiveness, tact and diplomacy

  • Underlying knowledge of purchasing systems (e.g. Ariba), MS office applications and purchasing processes

  • Fluent English and German language (spoken, written), other languages are welcome

  • Vital ability to work in international teams and virtual environment

  • Interest to support cross functional projects


  • At least 5 years’ experience in strategic and tactical procurement within the IT infrastructure, in a multinational environment

  • Support business requirements and translate them into actionable procurement activity

  • Solid purchasing knowledge to execute global sourcing projects

  • Good Server & Storage Infrastructure related knowledge is required

  • Experience in execution and delivery of strategy
