Harris Geospatial Solutions is seeking a highly motivated business development professional to join our Gilching, Germany – based sales and marketing team. This is a strategic sales position focused on developing geospatial data and analytics business opportunities in existing and new markets with the responsibility to sell commercial products as well as consulting, training, and professional services. The successful candidate will have experience in interviewing, consulting, problem solving, and analyzing customer needs to determine the best solution. This role will also be responsible for developing and implementing integrated short and long-term sales strategies for targeted customers and markets, particularly where they include large, complex projects.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops strategic business development plans for defined markets and accounts.
Implements effective tactics for sales calls/meetings involving local sales representatives and technical sales engineers.
Supports and uses international resources in a consultative sales approach where appropriate.
Attains assigned quarterly and annual sales quotas by identifying, qualifying, negotiating and closing new business.
Manages, develops and executes sales plans for the defined territory and team.
Schedules and delivers presentations at prospect & customer sites, general seminars and meetings.
Represents Harris at field marketing events, industry trade shows and seminars.
Initiates outbound sales calls and hosts qualified customer visits.
Initiates, manages and closes more complex sales negotiations.
Articulates a compelling value proposition of solutions to address specific client business needs and requirements.
Assists European colleagues in managing and closing larger business deals.
Minimum Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or Geoscience.
7+ years sales experience within the geospatial technology, with specific industry experience preferred, including Environment, Defense, Utilities, and/or Transportation.
Proven track record of successful geospatial software sales against quota.
Demonstrated experience in high level, enterprise sales with the ability to close €100K accounts.
Experience with international tenders and global earth observation (EO) programs.
Demonstrated ability to develop strategic business plans, including organizational requirements.
Ability to collaborate with Senior Management and Sales Management on strategic business plans to grow revenue.
Demonstrated ability to present corporate information to client base and set up on-site sales calls.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in German and English. Italian or French language skills are a plus.
Knowledge of Harris geospatial software products and/or related experience.
