Job Scope

We are looking for motivated SOA Architects with a Webcenter Sites specialisation to join projects with high visibility for our major customers. In this role you will contribute to customer success by bringing Oracle product know-how and project expertise into the project. You enjoy working for and with customers and you are ready for continuous learning. You will report to the Practice Manager for Middleware and WebCenter.


You will design and implement broad technical solutions in projects at the customer site. You will discuss the solutions with the customer and position yourself as a trusted advisor to the customer.

Delivering presentations at customer C-Level or public events is an integral part of your activities.

Part of your activity will be to build prototypes based on the requirements of the customer.

You will prepare and hold workshops with the customer and internal teams around the customer solutions. Leading presales activities and prepare estimates for the proposed solution is an important part of your job as well as the delivery of presales activities together with Consulting Sales.

We expect you take ownership for solution design, scope description and estimates throughout the presales cycle as well as the project implementation.

You will be leading technical teams as well as coaching team member in technical topics.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proven experience in designing and programming solutions with JEE

  • Proven experience in building solutions with Javascript (using i.e. AngularJS,React JS,NodeJS,Oracle JET)

  • Proven Experience building software solutions using REST or JSON

  • Experience building solutions using Oracle ADF

  • Experience using tools like GIT,Maven, Nexus

  • Experience building continous integration solutions using Hudson (Jenkins)

  • Experience installing, configuring and tuning the Oracle Weblogic Server WLS

  • Experience in using JDBC programming on the Oracle database

  • Proven experience using architecture methods (i.e. TOGAF)

  • Proven experience in the application of security skills specifically around identity management

Additional positive technical skills and experiences include:

  • Building solutions based on Oracle Webcenter Content or Webcenter Sites

  • Building solutions around Oracle Cloud Tools (JCS, ICS, Dev Cloud)

  • Using Scrum and having a certification as Scrum Coach

  • Designing and building DevOps Solutions (i.e. using Ansible)

  • Ability to install and set up Tomcat

  • Using bootstrap (HTML5/CSS)

  • Programming with Python

  • SAML Configuration in WLS

  • Setting up Secure Token service


  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in jobs developing software based customer solutions

  • Education: graduate degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent

  • Proven experience on designing and implementing technical solutions at customers

  • Proven experience in presenting technical solutions and proposals to customers

  • Very good analytical skills

  • High proven result orientation

  • Able to work as a team player

  • Self motivated and ready for continuous learning

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

As a recognized authority and leading contributor within their practice, this senior-level consulting position provides consistent high quality and innovative solution leadership to a project team. Leads the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget.

Analyzes business needs to help ensure Oracle solution meets the customer’s objectives by combining industry best practices, product knowledge, and business acumen. Exercises judgment and business acumen in selecting methods and techniques to deliver functional and technical solutions on non-routine and very complex aspects of applications and technology installations. Provides direction and mentoring to project teams, and effectively influences customer leadership on key decisions. Supports the business development efforts by pursuing new opportunities and extensions. Collaborates with the consulting sales team by providing domain expertise. Resolves complex customer issues by recommending and implementing solutions. Demonstrates expertise in multiple business processes across two or more product families or ability to architect and design technology solutions encompassing multiple products and make decisions based on impact across the stack.

8-10 years of experience relevant to this position including 4 years of consulting experience. Prior team leadership or management experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Ability to travel as needed.
