Radar Feature Algorithm Engineer is responsible for the algorithmic development for advanced driver assistance radar system control modules for different applications, like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Emergency Warning and Braking, Cross Traffic Alert, etc.

  • Design, implementation and documentation of radar feature algorithms, like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Emergency Warning and Braking, Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist, radar sensor calibration, etc.
  • Establish test metric and methods for a given radar algorithm feature according to customer specification
  • Support software engineering team in embedding the designed features
  • Evaluating internal and external engineering design change requests
  • Participation in design and project reviews
Wissen und Ausbildung
  • Master degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math or equivalent technical field
  • Multi-year of experience in Automotive Feature development
  • Experience in drive assistance and Radar-based product development
  • Extended experience in implementing automotive software components in C and C++
  • Extended experience in modeling automotive features in Matlab, Simulink or Stateflow
  • Extended experience in Automotive Development Frameworks like ADTF
  • Extended understanding of automotive and driver assistance products including
  • Radar-based driver assistance features (Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), etc.)
  • Methods for object clustering and tracking (Kalman Filter, etc.)
  • Methods for object classification (SVN, AdaBoost, etc.)
  • Methods for object motion modeling, trajectory estimation and time to collision calculation
  • Methods of Vehicle Controls (PID controller, etc.)
  • Functional Safety and ASIL-rated products (ISO26262)
  • Automotive software development processes (V-Cycle, ASpice)
  • Requirements engineering/management process and tools (DOORS, MKS)
  • Vector automotive interface access and simulation tools (Vector CANeo, etc.)
  • Design tools (Enterprise Architect, IBM Rapsody)
Kenntnisse und Kompetenzen
  • Pronounced capability to work in distributed global team environment
  • Readiness to travel to both domestic and international engineering locations
  • Fluent English and German skills are essential
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
