Job Description Job purpose:

Building relationship to suppliers in existing and new markets with objective to ensure co-development of products, processes and proactive improvement in cost, delivery, productivity and quality within the supplier and its sub-supplier organization.

Supervising and verifying level of maturity at the supplier in particular commodity.

Supervising other SDE within the team.

Key Activities - Specific

  1. Supplier relationship
  • Build relationship to suppliers in existing and new markets with objective to ensure co-development of products, processes and proactive improvement in cost, delivery, productivity and quality within the supplier and its sub-supplier organisation.

  • Develop, verify and approve new suppliers in existing and new markets in line with TRW procedures incl. new supplier audit based on project needs.

  • Support TRW purchasing commodity & product line management for new and existing suppliers

  • Conclude “quality agreements” with TRW suppliers.

  1. APQP
  • Lead suppliers APQP activities.

  • Verify the success by approving of PPAP, Run @ Rate Audit, Launch Readiness and Part & Process Audits (incl. design review, component priority risk assessment, PCM/ SLP development, etc.).

  • Coordinate component APQP with supplier in close relation to TRW engineering, purchasing operations & OEM.

  • Manage the APQP transfer between SDE and SQA.

  1. New Projects launches
  • Assure that for new components / products the Supplier Product Launch Process has been successfully completed to ensure flawless launch.

  • Accountable for supplied components quality performance of the assigned supply base during component launch phase and SOP + 90 days.

  • Ensure implementing of “Dual Lunch Netting” and SLP on the defined components.

  • In specific cases accountable for components quality in phase between SOP and EOP (End Of Production).

  1. Quality of the supplied products
  • Drive continuous improvements activities for supplied components to meet TRW quality performance targets.

  • Conduct and approve PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) in regard to supplied components, approve new samples of supplied components.

  • Lead escalated quality issues (Top Focus process) at the supplier.

  • In case of need track and evaluate component quality level, prepare reports while using supplier database VIN MOPS, VIN PTS

  1. Supplier development
  • Ensure and conduct supplier development according to the ISO/TS 16949, ISO 9001 requirements as well as TRW GSQM and other TRW processes.

  • Conduct audits (New Supplier Assessment Audit, Supplier Run at Rate Audit, launch and Production Readiness Audit) according to BPM processes D010 and D020; manage the corrective actions.

  • Pro-actively find / suggest and implement purchase cost improvements.

  • Find and implement corrective actions in case of quality problems at suppliers (while using standard TRW tools), provide support in case of manufacturing problems; manage the improvement activities with accordance to BPM D040.

  • Manage Cost Recovery process for these supplier complaints.

  • Manage and conduct worst suppliers’ improvement programmes.

  • Supervising and verifying level of maturity at the supplier in particular commodity.

  1. TEAM MANAGEMENT
  • Plan the organizational structure and human resources requirements

  • Responsibility of the introduction of their subordinates with their JD, setting the initial criteria for evaluating employee performance, evaluation of goals and competency evaluation

  • Assigned tasks to individuals, then it is checked and sets the priorities

  • Organize regular meetings – communication of information from management review, input workload, control, receiving complains of department employees

Education Requirements

• Technical University Diploma (Mechanical Engineering, Electro Engineering)

Experience and Skill Requirements

• Min 5 years in automotive industry; expertise knowledge at the particular commodity or/and in automotive quality.

• Project management skills as well as good communication and presentation skills

• Knowledge and interpretation of the quality standards AIAG, VDA and ISO/TS 16949

• Knowledge of quality techniques (Statistic, APQP, PPAP, Problem Solving, etc.)

• Certified as external VDA 6.3 or/and ISO/TS 16949 auditor

• English knowledge (verbal and written) – fluent in writing and speaking

• Driving license

• Flexibility and adaptability
