Job Title Supplier Development Engineer
Business Unit Europe & Emerging Markets Body Control Systems
We offer the following challenging and responsible tasks:
Build relationship to suppliers in existing and new markets with objective to ensure co-development of products, processes and proactive improvement in cost, delivery, productivity and quality within the supplier and its sub-supplier organization.
Assure that for new components / products the Supplier Product Launch Process has been successfully completed to ensure flawless launch
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Drive continuous improvements activities for supplied components to meet TRW quality performance targets
Accountable for supplied components quality performance of the assigned supply base during component launch phase and SOP + 90 days.
Define needs, develop training programs and conduct training with the supply base according to TRW GSQM. Verify the success.
Coordinate component APQP with supplier in close relation to TRW engineering, purchasing operations & OEM.
Conduct, control and verify suppliers APQP activities.
Verify the success by approving PPAP, Run @ Rate, Launch Readiness and Part & Process Audits (incl. design review, component priority risk assessment, PCM/ SLP development, etc.).
Launch concern and cost recovery management.
Quality issue resolution at supplier.
Manage and conduct worst suppliers’ improvement programs (Top Focus).
Develop, verify and approve new suppliers in existing and new markets in line with TRW procedures incl. new supplier audit based on project needs.
Coordinate and support TRW local plant Supplier Quality Assurance activities
Support TRW purchasing commodity & product line management for new and existing suppliers
Support TRW engineering with regard to new products sourced from external suppliers
Education Requirements • Master degree from a technical university
Experience and Skill Requirements
• 3 years industrial experience in the automotive industry preferably in quality, manufacturing, engineering/technical environment with an emphasis on supplier interaction
• Certified auditor in accordance with ISO 9001 or alternative.
• Knowledge and interpretation of the quality standards AIAG, VDA and ISO/TS 16949 and knowledge of quality techniques (Statistic, APQP, PPAP, Problem Solving, etc.)
• English knowledge (verbal and written)
• Project management skills as well as good communication and presentation skills
• Car driving licence
