* Responsibility for ensuring compliance with relevant agencies governing import and export shipping regulations * Interface with new Product Development groups, Purchasing, Product Managers, regulatory and research departments to gather necessary data for product classification and shipping requirements * Owns creation and maintenance of harmonization, tariff codes and country of origin data in SAP * Effectively classifies dutiable import/export shipments to ensure compliance with all government agency rules and regulations * Applies for Import/Export Permits * Support ongoing productivity initiatives to reduce duties and taxes owed, including duty drawback programs, grouped entries and fillings * Monitor time sensitive import shipments to support selling units and DCC * Expedite clearance, dispatch and deliveries, working closely with brokers, distribution centres and carriers. * Prepare the responses to European Customs on all requirements. Seek binding rulings and file protests as needed. * Maintains and owns all relevant activities to ensure the AEO status and on-going compliance at our sites * Educate and facilitate training of the Engineering community on import compliance processes * Ensure record keeping of all required import documents * Provide notification and issue corrective actions for any issues of non-compliance * Report duty savings on Free Trade programs
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or an Operations Management related field is a plus * 10 or more years of related work experience. * German and European regulatory import, export and re-export trade compliance experience. * Complete understanding of German import/export Regulations, including knowledge of Customs valuation, classification, entry operations, and Free Trade agreements. * Understand country of origin and marking issues, record keeping requirements, and supply chain security regulations as they relate to imports. * Extensive experience in process management and reporting. * Problem analysis and problem resolution at a strategic and functional level. * Excellent verbal and written communication in German and English, project management, and organization skills. * Strong financial and business acumen. * Excellent intrapersonal / communication skills and ability to effectively manage internal and external business partners to drive successful outcomes. * Able to data mine, SAP warehouse objects or business objects experience a plus. * Travel (required estimated % of time) 10% - 15%
