Job Summary

At our Centre of Excellence in Swindon, UK, AECOM is working with some of the largest and most prestigious automotive and manufacturing clients globally. Our engineers and consultants tackle complex and innovative projects across these sectors. We need to employ people who are motivated by challenges and are able to adapt to rapidly changing environments.

We’re now looking to expand our team into Germany by hiring a sector Lead Process with experience in the Manufacturing industry. Initially working in the UK for between 3-6 months you will understand and develop your current skillset to our project scope and understand our client base and needs. Upon completion of your UK induction you will return to our German office in Frankfurt, where you will Lead Automotive projects in our European region. We have a strong intention to grow our team and in addition to leading projects you will hire and develop your team of Engineers to facilitate our growth in the European regions.

Expected background as part of an in house engineering/project/process improvement team; or machine/system integrator to the automotive, aerospace, food, medical, FMCG, or other heavily automated manufacturing industries.

Candidates shall be expected to:

  • Develop a consultancy design business

  • Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills are required to communicate effectively across all levels from shop floor to senior management.

  • Generate presentations and present to leadership, project team, and customer audiences as required.

  • Prepare, develop and maintain project plans and schedules to meet all project objectives, oversee project performance and client acceptance.

  • Lead project teams.

  • Use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project.

  • ​Manage and grow a business

Minimum Requirements

Demonstrable experience to include:

  • Experienced, approachable manager

  • Commercially aware and customer focused with a background in project management and sales.

  • Automotive manufacturing/assembly background

  • Experience in bid preparation

  • Broad range of project experience informing an appreciation for mechanical, electrical, controls and process aspects of automotive manufacturing projects

  • Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills are required to communicate effectively across all levels from shop floor to senior management.

  • Generate presentations and present to leadership, project team, and customer audiences as required.

  • Prepare, develop and maintain project plans and schedules to meet all project objectives, oversee project performance and client acceptance.

  • Flexible and willing to work away from office a customer demands

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant qualifications will be required, and membership of an appropriate professional body would be advantageous for this role.
