The Digital Music team is looking for a UX Researcher (m/f) who will be responsible for all platforms which enable our customers to stream music (Amazon Music Unlimited & Prime Music): Apps on Android, iOs, Windows, Mac.
The primary responsibility of this role will be to conduct usability studies, summarize the insights in concise reports and derive precise recommendations for improving the Amazon Music App and the music listening experience on all relevant platforms. By providing these insights, this role will contribute to brainstorms on new products and new product features - bringing fresh and divergent sketches to the team’s work and thinking.
Develop a profound understanding of the Amazon Music customer (both existing and potential) and music streaming market segments.
Generate insights on user behavior with the Amazon Music App and other relevant platforms by conducting usability studies, and summarize the insights in concise reports
Derive precise recommendations for international UX Design and Product Teams to improve our customers’ music experience
Stay current on the competitive landscape, emerging product trends, music service innovations, and broader technologies and identify opportunities to incorporate best current thinking into our product.
Work cross-functionally with a range of stakeholders – executives, engineers, technical product managers, business leaders, researchers, UX and visual designers.
Collaborate on projects, products, and feature launches with other teams both inside and outside of the digital music team including: international product teams, content programming, business development, legal, marketing, finance and customer service.
Bachelor’s degree in Product Management, HCI, UX design, UX / CX research, marketing psychology or related field preferred.
Several years of experience in physical, web, mobile, or emerging platform product usability research.
Strong track record of usability studies that had measurable impact on product improvements.
Strengths in problem solving, issue-resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
Fluent German and English with strong vocal and written skills
Master or MBA
A passion for digital music and/or subscription services.
Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage tradeoffs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners.
Experience with agile/iterative development and project management methodologies
Experience developing consumer applications and services, preferred but not required
