Global Internship Programme: Clinical Research Assistant in Clinical Operations Duration 6 months, office-based, Munich

Students studying a life science degree, who have excellent communication skills, attention to detail and a keen interest in clinical research are encouraged to apply.
 Internship Assignment We offer real work assignments in our Clinical Operations teams that compliment an education in Life Science disciplines, are challenging and recognized to the organization as vital. Our teams work directly with the clinical study sites to manage and deliver large and complex clinical studies for our clients, in accordance with required regulations. We work on phase II-IV studies which are the human trials that assess whether a drug is efficacious and safe, providing critical data needed to get a drug approved to treat patients. Our focus is always on the safety and welfare of the study participant, ensuring we deliver high quality data to our clients. In this role, Covance interns act as the key contact on our project team and for study sites, gaining unique insight and understanding of clinical research in Germany, working in the capacity of a Clinical Research Assistant. You will get the opportunity to liaise with interfacing departments such as Clinical Operations and Site Activation.

The following is a brief description of our Internship Programme:

Real work assignments Covance internship assignments are designed to support specific short-term projects which have achievable goals and objectives. Students work in different phases of the life cycle of a clinical trial and complete project related work based on their university training. At the conclusion of their assignment, students will showcase work through presentations to demonstrate their accomplishments and abilities to their colleagues.

Professional development and work related seminars In addition to project work, professional development workshops are designed to help students prepare for the transition from academia to industry. Topics include engaging in strong mentoring relationships, navigating a professional work environment, networking with senior leaders during the executive speaker series, and gaining exposure to diverse ideas in a global workplace.

Responsibilities / Duties Perform remote CRF review for data completion, query generation and resolution against establishe data review guidelines, under direct supervision of Covance or client data management systems Assist with generation and reconciliation of queries to investigative sites/clients to resolve problem data Create, update, track, and maintain study-specific trial management files, tools, and systems. Ensure compliance with Covance SOPs, FDA, ICH, and GCP regulations for clinical conduct in all aspects of daily work Assist in submissions and notifications to Ethics Committees Assist with On-Site Monitoring responsibilities as assigned Support CRA with preparation and follow-up of on site monitoring visits Assist with database updates in the system (e.g. CTMS) Perform other duties as assigned by management

Education / Qualifications University/College student studying a life science degree, minium 2nd year students, ideally in Munich area Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of 6 months Fluent German and English language skills Excellent communication skills Attention to detail and a keen interest in clinical research Our Munich Internship Programme start is flexible and we expect it to begin in the Spring/Summer time frame and last 6 months in duration
