Major responsibilities:

  • Handles complex accounting advisory tasks, reporting to the EMEA Head of Accounting & Controls
  • Analyzes complex transactions under US-GAAP, IFRS and German GAAP in consultation with Global Accounting Policy
  • Prepares presentations & memos on various accounting topics for senior management
  • Participates in related projects, e.g. Finance Due Diligence in M&A; transactions
  • Project management for regional accounting projects (e.g. implementation of new accounting standards, policies, reporting and disclosure processes, etc.)
  • Accounting related ad-hoc requests (e.g. preparation of presentations on specific financial topics for senior management)
  • Cooperation with local Finance teams in various jurisdictions as project leader
  • Supports improvement of accounting related internal control systems for the region

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Completed Bachelor or Master degree in economics and ideally additional professional qualification (e.g. Wirtschaftsprüfer, CPA, etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of international accounting standards
  • Broad practical experience in accounting
  • Several years of experience in the field of international accounting (IFRS, US-GAAP), at best with focus on the financial services industry
  • Fluency in English, fluency in German or other languages beneficial
  • Good understanding of the international accounting process and environment
  • Willingness to learn and to keep up-to-date on accounting and regulatory topics
  • Experience in working abroad and/or in multinational environments
  • Result oriented with very strong analytical, presentation and communication skills
  • Self-sufficient way of working, hands-on mentality
