Join Amazon in Munich as Head of Vendor Management (m/f).
As the leader of the team you will manage a strategic product category within our Consumables division and have a direct and important role in growing the business. You will deliver top and bottom line growth, build trustful relationships with key brands, improve the customer experience through assortment selection, and mentor and develop top talent to build a strong team.
Your key responsibilities include:
Act as the ‘business owner’ for your product category including developing and leading the vendor management strategy and possessing a complete understanding of the industry and variables that impact the business. This entails owning forecasting, monitoring, understanding and reporting on the category, along with responsibility for driving strategic projects and promotions to achieve business objectives.
Build strong relationships at executive level with our vendors, find creative solutions in negotiations and facilitate discussions in order to drive profitable growth.
Share best practice across categories with your leadership colleagues in Germany and internationally.
Turn in-depth analysis into strategic insight, present these in convincing figures to top management and turn them into action
Seek out ways to create better product availability through operational improvements.
Manage a team of vendor managers through whom you will drive selection growth and deliver the category strategy for our customers.
We are seeking someone with experience in managing teams, demonstrated history of building strong relationships, successful project ownership, comfort using data to troubleshoot and prioritize business decisions and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities within a fast-paced environment.
University degree ideally in an analytical discipline, e.g. business or engineering
Highly analytical skill set with aptitude for figures and data-driven argumentation, very good Excel skills are a must
Buyer, purchasing / procurement or key account management experience, ideally in a FMCG environment; consulting experience a plus
Excellent communication and negotiation skills in German and English are essential
A business focused way of thinking and a strong hands-on, results-driven mentality combined with a high desire to work strategically
Experience in building executive level internal and external relationships in a complex and dynamic organization and in influencing cross-functional teams
Experience in managing and developing a high performance team
Experience in SQL as a plus
Successfully managed cross-functional projects
