Verify Field Service Technican in Munich, Germany

Job Title: FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Job Purpose: Installs, tests, troubleshoots and maintains electromechanical systems and subsystems both in-plant and at various customer sites

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoots and repairs process control, electromechanical systems, subsystems, and components as required

  • Assists project engineer and team members during trainer system installation, integration and testing

  • Performs mechanical and electrical design modifications as directed by Engineering

  • Provides telephone technical support to customers with system problems as required

  • Documents all repair and test activities for equipment serviced

  • Generates and processes service reports, spares usage & requirements relating to service visits & integration works as necessary

  • Recording accurate work & travel hours on a daily basis, utilizing relevant company IT based recording systems

  • Interfaces with customer personnel on field service related matters as directed by the service manager

  • Plans, organizes and conducts on-site preventive and corrective maintenance service on installed systems

  • May be assigned as site supervisor or training instructor or integration engineer for a given project at the discretion of the Service Manager

  • Performs other duties as assigned, or necessary for the operation of the Department and/or company

  • Duties are performed with moderate supervision. Some decision-making is at the incumbent’s discretion. Major decisions and problems must be presented to the Service Manager in a timely manner

 

Qualifications:

  • Trade school or equivalent

  • At least 3-5 years technical service, repair and/or maintenance experience

  • Associates degree in Engineering preferred

  • Prior military service or experience preferred

  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics

  • Comprehension of AC power distribution, DC analog and digital signals and controls

  • Understanding of basic electrical theory, mechanics, optics, thermal stress, corrosion and general physics

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical and computer systems to component level, isolate faults, and take corrective action

  • Capability to organize tools, equipment, parts and material necessary to conduct field service activity

  • Ability to plan work activities and execute in an efficient, timely manner

  • Cognition of portable test equipment, analog and digital multi-meters, and IBM PC hardware and software

  • Demonstrated dexterity with common power and hand tools

  • Experience with EPlan & electrical design

  • Experience with SCADA & PC based systems

  • Experience with PLC application software & design of PLC code (Mitsubishi & Rockwell an advantage)

Working Conditions: Mainly site based working, with some office activities as required (EPlan etc.)

Physical requirements: General overall fitness & ability to travel & work without debilitating or restrictive medical conditions.

Travel: Extended and extensive travel to customer sites
