EU External Fulfillment ACES Senior Program Manager (f/m) in Munich, Germany

The European External Fulfilment (EU EF) team is looking for an exceptionally talented EF ACES Senior Program Manager (f/m) in all Europe, located in Munich or in Luxembourg, focusing on improving the operational solutions performance and reducing costs of our expanding 3PL fulfillment center and Vendor Flex operations within the EU EF Operational Excellence team.

The external fulfillment team develops and manages alternative fulfillment solutions to provide extra capacity and flexibility, to extend capability and to ensure cost effective processes. We are driving, evaluating and improving our 3PL and Vendor Flex node’s performance and metrics, to ensure that they deliver a customer experience equivalent to Amazon’s own fulfillment network.

You will contribute to build the future of Amazon in Europe by identifying and managing cost out initiatives, driving our External network to the optimal operational solutions and improving all related processes for 3PL and Vendor Flex Operations in a growing environment.

Interfacing with the EF Country Operations, EU EF Business Development, technology and procurement, Retail teams, supply chain & transportation teams and Finance,

You will use your strong data analysis and technical, lean systems expertise, to

  • Monitor actual Fulfillment Cost across EU 3PL and VFlex while adjusting for different country requirements and other influencing factors

  • Contribute to negotiations for new capacities as well as re-negotiations and contract extension of existing sites.

  • Identify, and promote best practice formalize and promote best practices throughout the network

  • Identify, develop and deploy new solutions to improve overall fulfillment cost

  • Manage and facilitate the deployment of improvement plan as well as propose priorities across EU EF Operations

  • Develop/deploy EU EF Operations Management System towards Operational Excellence

    You continuously push for better, faster, cheaper, and more effective. You will propose recommended solutions to complex challenges and deliver timely, relevant metrics to key stakeholders, including senior management. You will analyze various External Fulfillment data, metrics and processes to define a cost optimal, high performant, External Fulfillment System. This role offers an opportunity to influence business-critical decisions that will increase EU EF contribution in term of reactivity, flexibility and cost savings keep while continuing to increase the reliability, the quality and the speed at which we fulfill our customers’ orders

    As member of the European External Fulfillment Team you will play an integral part in driving Operational Performance across the European Supply Chain, partnering with the external and internal Fulfillment operations, Transportation , IT, Retail and Finance to support new business opportunities.

    This role is based within our German Headquarter in Munich and is reporting to the European External Fulfillment Operational Excellence manager.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher, ideally in engineering, supply chain, logistics and lean management area or similar other business/analytical discipline. Master’s or MBA is preferred

  • 2+ years Management experience in a manufacturing, production, supply chain or logistics provider (3PL) environment in an international company.

  • Cross-functional international project management capability. Proven track record of delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality.

  • Business case decision-making, complex problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail. A strong track record of analytical and creative problem solving.

  • Process improvement knowledge via continuous improvement cycles, “Kaizens” and the use of LEAN tools.

  • Fluent English essential, other languages desirable.

  • Strong data driven, analytical & technical Skills: SQL, Excel, Datamining

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of your time to European 3PL and vendor flex Fulfillment Centers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent fulfillment operations experience and knowledge, preferable in 3PL or eCommerce/Fulfillment or FC environment

  • Certifications & Mentorship in Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt) or in LEAN

  • Proven ability to influence others without having positional authority

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to Deep Dive and develop innovative ideas for process challenges

  • Technical Expertise - Solution-driven approach to systems & processes.

  • Creative and ideas-driven in finding new solutions/ designing innovative methods, systems and processes.

  • Good team player and the ability to work with a wide cross-section of people in various locations
