Content Editor-Intern in Munich, Germany

Amazon is looking for a talented and passionate Content Editor with strong creative and communication skills and a love for children’s content to join Amazon FreeTime Unlimited, one of the fastest growing teams within the Amazon Device business. Amazon FreeTime Unlimited is an all-in-one subscription for kids that offers unlimited access to thousands of kid-friendly books, movies, TV shows, educational apps, and games—all while blocking social media access and in-app purchasing so that parents don’t have unwelcome surprises. Amazon FreeTime also includes best-in-class parental controls, allowing parents to set daily time limits or restrict certain categories—like games and video—while leaving unlimited time for reading.

The FreeTime Unlimited Content Editor will work closely with business, technical and product management teams to deliver content-related features that will improve FreeTime’s parent and child user experience. A successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively with a large number of both internal and external stakeholders. Finally, the FreeTime content editor will become an expert in children’s content, including developing a deep understanding of age appropriateness, educational value and more. This is a multi-faceted job in a fun, start-up like environment that requires flexibility, agility, creativity and a sense of humor.

Specific requirements include:

  • Work closely with business, product management and technical teams to define and launch new content-related features in FreeTime Unlimited.

  • Own, improve and create new content evaluation processes.

  • Create, curate and maintain customer-facing information about kids content.

  • Sample children’s books, apps and videos to help improve the catalog selection.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various organizations in the company to complete projects.

  • Relevant work experience in online communications, marketing, site management, and/or site merchandising.

  • Native German speaker with fluency in English a must

  • BA/BSc required.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong editorial background and exceptional skill in proofreading and creating, implementing, and ensuring adherence to technical style guides.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to conceptualize and execute projects, with strong bias for action and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

  • Communication and collaboration skills that enable you to earn trust up, down, and across the company.

  • Knowledge of children’s content and popular characters.

  • A degree in Literature, Marketing, Journalism or a similar field.

  • 1 – 2 years of professional work experience in media or a related industry.
