Job Description This position is responsible for the management of the Division A Rubber Commodity Managers/Buyers (6.5 heads) to effectively develop, monitor and implement purchasing strategies (New and Global Competitive Sourcing- GCS) based on cost models and total landed cost analysis to support the various business requirements of all product lines and their global footprints. The position is interfacing with all surrounding functions like engineering, plants, supplier quality, product line purchasing, finance, VA/VE, etc. in order to identify and strengthen cost savings opportunities cross-functionally and to yield maximum synergies. The responsible global spend is approximately $150M.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Establish, monitor and meet the objectives (commercial performance, supplier financial health issues, consolidation, supplier quality & delivery performance targets) in support of the business strategic action plans (SAPs) and contribute to the development of annual budgets.
Lead team of commodity managers/buyers and manage multifunctional teams (SDE, VMT/VAVE) by using target metrics to meet the future goals of the business.
Develop technology and process roadmaps with product lines to shape the supplier selection process for new business and development contracts while sourcing products on time.
Ensure the strategic evaluation of suppliers is in line with ZF's expectations by presenting to the executive sourcing committee for approval.
Represent purchasing in business events such as strategic reviews, product reviews, senior management reviews, etc.
Ensure the career development of the team and effective working practices are implemented.
Manage global savings performance for the rubber commodity to meet OP targets set by BUs.
Develop a subsequent global part family strategy and drive the execution via executive sign-off.
Manage global sourcing pipeline to achieve on time sourcing deliverables, including leverage of carry-over volumes.
Lead or support a Value Capture project and demonstrate an improvement to clean sheet while ensuring that new business is sourced at the clean sheet level.
Commercially responsible for negotiations, in agreement with product line. Manage supplier business plans (price, quality , launch, &delivery).
Conduct global competitive sourcing/market tests.
Manage supplier portfolios.
Conduct monthly reviews of professional indexing organizations to ensure rubber competiveness through market intelligence. Need to benchmark and understand where feedstocks come from as well as compounding and regional cost drivers and how that influences overall rubber prices. Additionally needs to create index agreements to minimize commodity inflation exposure.
- Bachelor Degree required, emphasis in Supply Chain/Purchasing or other technical field preferred.
Experience and Skill Requirements
At least six years relevant Purchasing experience, preferably 6-10 years.
Prior people leadership experience required.
Experience in global organization with responsibility to develop and execute strategic plans required.
Thorough working knowledge of both business and financial matters.
Additional skills required are - team leadership, negotiation, strategic sourcing tools.
Fluency in English language (verbal and written) required.
