OUR CHALLENGE

While the paradigms of cloud and micro-services offer unprecedented flexibility they also introduce new challenges, in particular in analyzing and ensuring the robustness, performance and well-behavior of your cloud-based, possibly highly distributed solutions.

Within our development team we research, develop, and operate services to observe and analyze application qualities along multiple dimensions, including performance, availability, and robustness. Being a core feature of the platform, our solutions have to meet highest cloud quality standards by themselves, process huge amounts of data and derive intelligent insights from them.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

As developer and member of our SAP HANA Cloud Platform organization you will develop and operate service offerings on Cloud Foundry. Exposure to newest technologies and open-source projects will be your daily life.

Specifically you will:

  • Develop robust and understandable software

  • Evolve and operate the software along the DevOps principle

  • Review, integrate, extend open-source technologies

  • Work in an agile team to which you contribute as active team player and proactive networker

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required skills:

  • In the first place? An open mind!

  • A good bachelor or master degree in computer science or a related technical discipline.

  • Proficiency in state of the art programming languages and concepts.

  • Confidence working within Unix / Linux environments and scripting.

  • Goal-oriented team worker with the curiosity and willingness to understand and apply new technologies, concepts, and tools.

  • Fluency in German and English.

Preferred skills:

  • Excellent knowledge in at least two modern programming languages, e.g. Java, Python, Go, Ruby, JavaScript or the like

  • Experience with distributed systems and concepts of resilience

  • Experiences with a cloud infrastructure and services therein, e.g. Cloud Foundry, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform

  • Knowledge of open-source products & processes. Own prior contributions are a plus.

  • Experience with modern software engineering methodologies, e.g. test-driven-development, continuous integration, Git and/or Jenkins
