Within the EMEA Dow Automotive Systems Business there is an opening for anA ccount Manager Automotive (M/F) located in*Schwalbach (near Frankfurt/Rhein-Main area), Germany.

Reporting to the Central European sales director for Dow Automotive systems, she/he is accountable for sales in the region, leading the interface with selected Automotive Accounts or Automotive distribution partners, coordinates internally and externally the Account activities.

The Account Manager is responsible to position the Dow Automotive product portfolio for the benefit of the customer and in order to generate valuable growth for Dow Automotive.

  • Key responsibilities: *

  • Deliver against the Dow Automotive business/finance plan for assigned customer accounts and/or distribution accounts(revenues, volume, margin)

  • Negotiate regional/global commercial deals/contracts

  • Manage price and margin according to the business guidelines

  • Develop account plans for strategic accounts and manage all aspects of reporting and documenting, in particular by regular use of Customer Relation Management (CRM) and forecasting tools

  • Developing and driving projects and opportunities to position Dow as partner and solution provider in the early design stages and projects of tiers, distribution partners or car producers, working closely together with the material and development centers of the customers

  • Coordination of the material approval-process at the customer, in order to create business growth and coordinate follow- source activities even in other regions

  • Work in close co-operation with regional and global technical teams to identify growth opportunities, both for existing and new products.

  • Drive customer projects and coordinate with all involved stakeholders like R&D, supply chain, manufacturing, marketing, etc.

  • Monitors, measures and reports progress against goals.

  • Critical Success Factors: *

  • Key Dow interface at Automotive customers like OEMs, distribution partners or Aftermarket customers, interfacing with departments like (purchasing, engineering, design, platform, process, marketing, and assembly)

  • Ability to manage Dow Automotive distribution partners by coordinating and supporting their activities in the market and support the growth in this segment

  • Ability to face technical challenges

  • Ability to combine technical attitude, commercial skills and passion for sales success

  • Ability to grow sales by developing key relationships internally and externally

  • Ability to work independently

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Personal Effectiveness.

  • University degree in Chemical Engineering, Marketing or Business Administration

  • Proven experience in the field of specialty chemical sales is an advantage

  • Experience in technical sales preferable in the Automotive industry is anadvantage

  • Experience with Automotive adhesives, sealers, paints, etc. is an advantage

  • Strong industry knowledge and network

  • Fluent in English and German, French or Spanish is added value

  • This position requires travel throughout Germany and sometimes European region.
