Our mission is to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer.As one of the largest biotechnology companies in Germany, we research, develop and produce innovative biomarker diagnostics and distribute our products in more than 65 countries.For our Sales- and Service organization Microgenics GmbH we are currently looking for aFinancial Analyst (m/f) - 1 year contractLocation: Hennigsdorf bei BerlinIn this role you are responsible for meeting the deadlines for the monthly, quarterly and year-end close process as well as directly supporting the Senior Financial Analyst (Finance & Accounting) with the overall control environment at Business Unit level.Responsibilities:·Perform accounting activities including journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis.·Oversee and assist Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, and Fixed Assets and Intercompany reconciliations.·Assistant contact person for all accounting or tax related matters·Prepare and review VAT & other Tax filings.·Prepare Cost Recharge Agreements with Intercompany entities for cross-charges.·Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and corporate internal control polices, working closely with the stakeholders and Senior Financial Analyst to develop world class internal controls.·Establish documentation and procedures in compliance with the corporate accounting policies.·Promote “best practices – suggest and drive improvements to existing processes.·Provide analysis and support to finance and operations leadership to ensure proper controls and business management.·Other miscellaneous projects and duties as assigned also on Divisional level.·Assist with internal and external audits by taking a lead in preparation/coordination.Qualifications:·Fully qualified Professional Certified Management Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter/International/IHK) or similar education is required.·Proven accounting experience in a Financial Accounting role (with manufacturing background preferred)·Knowledge of commonly used German Accounting Standards (HGB) and US-GAAP, practices and procedures according Sarbanes-Oxley required.·Very good understanding of Financial Statements and German Tax regulations (VAT, corporate income and trade tax, tax calculations).·Ability to accurately process high volumes of work, prioritize duties, meet deadlines, and work independently while maintaining strong relationships with internal and external customers·Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.·Ability to develop high levels of credibility and forge solid professional relationships with all levels of the organization, including upper management.·Team-oriented focus paired with a hands-on attitude.·Ability to be flexible in work schedule as business requirements dictate (month-end close).·SAP and Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) knowledge preferred.·Effective oral and written communication skills in German and English.We offer:·Employment with an innovative, future-oriented organization.·Outstanding career and development prospects.·Company pension scheme.·Exciting company culture which stands for integrity, intensity, involvement and innovation.At Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 50,000 extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell.
