Philips Procurement Engineer (m/f) for Medical Systems/Components in Hamburg, Germany
The Business Unit GTC develops and produces generators, tubes, and Components used in Computed Tomography, Cardio Vascular and Radiographic applications of medical diagnostic imaging. Besides some “Sales to third parties” the majority of sales is distributed to Philips system factories and global customer support organizations. BU GTC sells to 44 countries from manufacturing locations in Hamburg/Germany; Best, Eindhoven and Heerlen/Netherlands and US- locations in Aurora, Illinois and Arlington.
You will be part of the GTC Procurement team within Philips Healthcare and work closely with representatives from both the R&D and Operations organizations. Our goal is to build an outstanding procurement competence and to improve our performance by ensuring our approach is End2End driving, aligning product development, supply chain, service and finance. Through strong partnerships with our suppliers we bring Philips meaningful innovation and sustainable competitive cost advantage.
Develop and maintain value adding suppliers in projects and remain up to date with the state of the art technologies, modules and components.
Aligns needs with competitive landscape and technology roadmaps
Provides input to the commodity teams regarding the supply base characteristics based on business requirements
Manage all project related supplier aspects, with close alignment to the commodity management during a new product introduction or life cycle projet
Ensures early supplier involvement in projects
Drives the supplier selection process together with commodity teams and supports development teams in the definition of supplier requirements and defining the global supply (chain) requirements
Provides should cost assessments for should-cost assessments for newly proposed products
Leads or particpates in DfX conventions for the assigned business
Drives concept savings in new product development and life cycle projects and support the BU productivity activities
Supports the supplier quality manager in new supplier componente release process, including compliance and sustainability aspects.
We are looking for people who want to deliver excellent results for our customers in a team with highly qualified, innovative colleagues:
Academic degree in a technical discipline (f.e. Industrial Engineering, Wirtsch.-Ing.)
5-10 years of experience in procurement in an assembly type industry with strong technical background
Lean and preferably DfX experience
Strong networking and communications/influencing skills
Experience in leading international projects
Proactive, structured and result oriented way of working
Fluent in English and German language
