Expert in Wind Characterization and Analytics (m/f)
Research - Mechanical and Industrial Engineering
Location(s) Where Opening Is Available Germany
Reduce the cost of energy for wind power by developing advanced technologies that leverage understanding of the surrounding wind field and its interaction with the turbine.
Design and analysis of field experiments
Wind turbine loads and performance analysis
Development of wind turbine technology
Ph.D. in aerodynamics, wind engineering, atmospheric science or related field
Strong fundamental knowledge in fluid mechanics and good knowledge of wind turbines
Experience in analysis of measurements in atmospheric boundary layers or other turbulent flows
Excellent academic track record and communication skills paired with the desire for continuous learning and for tackling challenging problems
Can-do attitude, open minded, creative, flexible, team player & committed
Work experience in the field (in academia or industry) beyond PhD studies
Experience in wind turbine siting or wind turbine performance and loads simulations
Experience with advanced flow measurement techniques (PIV, Lidar, Radar, etc.)
Knowledge of advanced statistical and data processing methods
Experience with working in multinational teams
