EMC Sr. Consultant / Engagement Mgr., Consulting Life Science practice in Frankfurt, Germany

Job Description:


The candidate will play a key role in promoting the Enterprise Content Division Consulting Team Life Science practice as a trusted advisor for our key LifeSciences / pharmaceutical customers. It will engage early in the sales cycle to add credibility to the sales effort by providing deep domain expertise for at least one of the following areas: regulatory & development, quality & manufacturing or clinical. Proven exposure to at least two of these domains will be an advantage. It is expected that the candidate has subject matter level expertise in at least one of the domains mentioned above. May lead a team of consultants on a project/program assigned basis. Engages in detail within the business requirements analysis phases of the project and leads conceptual work in establishing multi-year strategies for implementing the ECD Documentum Life Science Suite within key accounts. Works independently or with general direction from appropriate Delivery Manager and Vertical Practice Lead.


  • Engage with the sales team to help close business through presentations and/or responding to RFP’s

  • Provides support, assistance and guidance to project managers as needed

  • Cross train and mentor other members of the practice

  • Provide delivery oversight for any projects related to the own domain of expertise

  • Deliver high quality presentations to business and IT audiences

  • Provides technical and/or business consultative leadership for Program Management and Project Management functions

  • Works closely with customer and Sales to capture Services Statement of Work

  • Articulates value of Dell EMC solutions and services business benefit to the customer

  • Work closely with ECD Regional Service Directors, Delivery Managers, Solution Principals, Practice Managers, Solution Architects and partners to develop opportunities that deliver EMC solutions and provide continual revenue

  • Create/modify solution workshop material


  • Master degree in a business discipline, or equivalent

Required Knowledge, Key Skills and Experience:

  • Domain specific industry expertise

· Proven experience in leading / advising successful document management project implementations in at least one of the following areas: Clinical & Trial Master File, GCP Regulations; Quality & Manufacturing, GMP Regulations, Regulatory Submissions

  • Solid experience in computer systems validation

  • Experience with formal project management techniques (i.e. formal status reporting and client communication, budget/scope management and change controls, and project team direction and technical leadership.) is an advantage

  • Experience with formal structured design, development and testing techniques

  • Demonstrated ability to provide oversight and support to a portfolio of projects concurrently (>3), each with assigned project managers

  • Consistent demonstration of taking a leadership role regarding program/project discussions, coalescing relevant information and data, and managing account stakeholders successfully

  • Versed in multiple project/program management methodologies

  • Deep breadth of analytical techniques, tools and approaches, i.e.SharePoint sites, Visio mapping, business cases, communications and change management plans, user stories

  • Ability to successfully run a number of complex client processes, i.e. RFI/RFP selections

  • Uses in-depth knowledge of customers to develop solutions

  • Ability to mentor and train consulting staff regarding LifeScience industry processes

  • Pre-Sales skills that combine delivery and business acumen

  • Experience participating in or completing solution sales is strongly preferred

  • Advanced LifeScience Industry certifications
