About the Business Line
AECOM’s Global Support Services (GSS) organization resides within AECOM’s Government business line and is comprised of three divisions — International Development, Operations and Mission Support, and Global Programs. GSS has the international presence, personnel networks and procurement infrastructure to deliver support for any mission, anywhere. We optimize the reliability, availability and sustainability of equipment, logistics systems and facilities for clients around the world. GSS supports the U.S. Government, non-U.S. Governments and industry clients with worldwide program management, planning, design, operations and maintenance, logistics, aviation services, security, international development, environmental and civil engineering and mission and intelligence support.
This position is located in Dulmen, Germany and is contingent upon contract win.
This position performs various duties throughout the work area to facilitate the expedient movement of goods. Duties will be
The Material Expediter shall coordinate and expedite the flow of material from time of receipt of a requisition from a customer
to physical receipt of the material by the customer.
The Material Expediter shall monitor and expedite HM through the supply
chain management pipeline in accordance with the customer’s Priority and Required Delivery Date (RDD).
The Material Expediter shall review and continually monitor available data and confer with the Site Manager and Logistics
Analyst to resolve overdue issues, shipments, and to locate material.
The Material Expediter shall establish delivery sequences to site according to requisition priorities, RDDs, and anticipated
availability of material; arranging for redistribution of hazardous material (HM) from other 3PL owned inventories located at
other sites to meet customer RDDs and prevent work stoppages, if necessary.
The Material Expediter shall apply knowledge of product and manufacturing processes as necessary to ensure adequate purchasing of HM to maintain consistent flow of HM to the site.
The Material Expediter shall compile regular and recurring reports and adhoc reports.
Work may include the following task:
directing power truck operators or material handling laborer to expedite movement of materials between storage and production areas
compare work ticket specifications with materials at work stations to verify appropriateness of material in use
prepare worker production records and time cards, and may update and maintain inventory records, using computer terminal.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Skilled in use of Microsoft Office products, to include advanced skills in Excel for creating and modifying reports.
Knowledge of requisition and order tracking systems and procedures preferred.
Ability to identify and resolve problems with stateside and local vendors and customers, orders and shipments.
Knowledge in specialized handling and storage procedures of hazardous materials as required by regulation and safety requirements.
A High school diploma or GED is required as well as specific training and thorough knowledge in warehouse operations plus a working knowledge of warehouse related computer software.
Good written and spoken communication and analytical skills.
A minimum of 3 years of job-related, documented, verifiable experience is desired.
Must meet security clearance requirements.
Personnel shall possess a functional knowledge if and shall produce evidence of training and/or experience using the Army Supply system. Knowledge of AWRDS / ,MWB and LWP is required.
This position has a rotating shift. When required, may be subject to shift changes, weekend, holiday, and overtime work. Shift work, weekends, mandatory overtime (with proper notice given) and cross-training can be required in order to meet
daily/weekly workload requirements.
Preferred experience with Hazardous Material Management System (HMMS)
