HAVI / TMSW Assistant HR Manager in Duisburg, Germany

We have an exciting new opportunity for an Assistant HR Manager to join the European Human Resources team. The successful candidate will provide proactive operational HR leaderhip to a number of Service Lines across HAVI Europe, based in our office in central Duisburg, Germany. Specifically, the incumbent will lead delivery in the areas of employee services, data management, recruitment, reporting, and local employment legislation.

In addition, the postholder will business partner two to three local departments in order to build employee engagement and broaden employee capabilities in line with business strategy. By focusing on employee engagement, these employees and managers will be coached towards building and maintaining the highest levels of performance.

The Assistant HR Manager will have line responsibility for up to five direct reports, including four Apprentices and one Office Assistant, and will report to the Director, HR Business Partner based in London, UK.

Required work experience:

  • 5 years' minimum Generalist HR experience

  • Experience with a multinational company in a corporate environment

  • Strong understanding of employee development and Germany employment legislation

  • Administrative and data management accountability

  • Experience with managing both PC (Word / Excel) and HRIS software applications

Required competencies and skills:

  • Educated to university degree level, including / in addition to an HR qualification

  • Confident with delivering autonomous, pro-active advisory services to employees

  • Native German speaker, fluent English speaker

  • Ability to multitask and remain highly organized in a process-driven environment

  • Numerical and business acumen

  • Appreciation and championing of diversity and individual differences
