*Principal Engineer (m/f) - Software Development - Testchip Integration *

GLOBALFOUNDRIES is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Software engineer to work in the Testchip Integration team as part of the Customer Tapeout Engineering organization located in Dresden, Germany. Customer T/O Engineering's mission is to enable GLOBALFOUNDRIES customers design productivity and best-in-class design-to-sample cycle time. The Testchip Integration team supports assembly and integration of testchips and multi-project-wafer shuttles (MPWs). To support this mission, the Testchip Integration team works closely with various global teams like Process Integration and Technology Enablement. Those teams are located in the USA, Singapore and Germany.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • developing core software solutions and infrastructure that will be utilized to assemble and integrate testchips and multi project wafers (MPWs) in advanced technologies.

  • Main focus will be put on the automation of the assembly processes with 100% quality and minimal cycle time in mind.

  • This role requires a close working relationship with the engineers that use these processes to deliver qualified designs.

  • Modify existing and develop new software infrastructure to address critical requirements for chip integration

  • Interact with other teams such as design teams, mask and data mask data prep teams to obtain information on functional requirements and priorities for new features.

  • Maintain detailed application documentation and revision control

  • Contribute to multiple projects and expert in test strategies

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent with multiple years of professional experience

  • Must have at least multiple years of professional Software Engineering with Scripting Languages (Perl, Shell, Tcl/Tk), Python, C/C , LINUX platform

  • UNIX based script development and WEB programming skills

  • Experience in Mentor Calibre LVS/DRC and SVRF rule writing is a plus

  • Database Knowledge (MySQL)

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and with different cultures across different sites

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent English language skills are a must, German language skills are strongly recommended

  • Successful candidates will be comfortable working through all stages of the software development life-cycle from requirements, development, test and deployment using Agile disciplines.

  • Work in a dynamic collaborative environment requiring strong teaming skills with programmers, engineers, managers, and production employees

  • Individuals with strong ability to learn and explore new technologies and who are able to demonstrate good analysis and problem solving skills are preferred.

  • Must have the ability to develop critical functionalities consistently and in a timely manner.
