*Principal Technology & Integration Engineer (m/f) - BEoL *

As Process Integration Engineer you will be part of the Back-End-of-Line Process Integration department, participating in advance technology manufacturing and development in GLOBALFOUNDRIES' state-of-the-art 300 mm wafer fab (Fab1) in Dresden, Germany. Reporting to the Fab1 INT management, the primary responsibility of this position is to manage an integrated CMOS process flow, drive improvements to enhance yield and manufacturability of this flow, ensure smooth movement of prototypes and critical lots through the manufacturing line as well as meet the customer’s needs from Fab1.

Your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, optimize and stabilize process integration in the BEOL area (22FDX node and below) – focus is the interaction between design, platform projects and customer specific requirements - to meet the physical and the electrical requirements of leading edge semiconductor technologies in a foundry environment

  • Specify, mitigate and reduce production risks. Drive improvements in yield and manufacturability across the BEOL part of the CMOS process flow,

  • Stabilize technology platform and reduce variability

  • Collaborate with a number of Fab1 teams – specifically with advanced module engineering, yield engineering, design and reliability

    Your Qualifications:

  • Master degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics or other relevant technical discipline is required (PhD degree is preferred)

  • Several years of semiconductor process experience in multiple process modules or process integration; experience in advanced technology is preferred

  • You should have a solid working knowledge of modern CMOS process integration, with some exposure to Back-end-of-line (BEoL) integration, design and copper interconnect processing, including deeper knowledge of one of these areas

  • Exposure to semiconductor volume manufacturing methods, statistical methods, external customer interactions and multiple-culture working environments would be very beneficial

  • Additional technical experience in reliability engineering, defect inspection and reduction, yield enhancement, and chip/package interaction would be a plus

  • In addition to technical proficiency, all candidates must have proven project management and peer leadership skills as well as the interpersonal skills required to work in high-performance cross-functional teams

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required

  • Strong interpersonal skills are required

  • Previous exposure to multi-cultural environments is a plus

  • Proficiency in the German language is preferred
