Principal Process Engineer (m/f) - Advanced Module Engineering Etch
GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab1 is seeking an Etch process engineer in Dresden Germany. The individual selected for this position will work together with other GLOBALFOUNDRIES technology development and manufacturing groups at Fab1. Employee will participate in process development activities for advanced technical nodes in Dry Etch. Projects will include development and optimization of Etch process for 12nm / 22nm FDX and 28nm PolySiON & HKMG technologies, linking with other process engineering and integration groups. In addition to development experience, experience in optimizing unit process for manufacturability will be important. This position will involve the release of these technologies to the Fab1 manufacturing groups and you will be located to the Company’s Fab 1 operations in Dresden Germany.
Collaborate with GLOBALFOUNDRIES technology development and manufacturing groups and participate in development of unit process for 12nm / 22nm FDX and 28nm PolySiON & HKMG technologies.
Design, execute, and analyze experiments to screen and optimize module unit process and equipment to meet technology (e.g., performance, yield, and reliability) and manufacturing (e.g., process stability, cost of ownership) targets.
Work with integration and device groups in the technology development and the manufacturing teams to plan and execute projects and implement solutions on schedule.
Engage with tool suppliers to highlight new module unit process requirements and evaluate new equipment solutions.
Define and maintain module unit process and equipment roadmaps.
Transfer technology developed into manufacturing in Fab1 in Dresden or other fabs if necessary.
Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
Technology related Bachelor's plus 6 years of experience or Master's / Diploma plus 2 years of experience; or PhD degree plus 1 year of experience in process technology development area.
Understanding of and familiarity with Dry Etch process and equipment.
Working knowledge of various module unit process and equipment.
Understanding of and familiarity with various characterization techniques including SEM, TEM, SIMS and XRD.
Understanding and working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE).
Ability to work effectively and efficiently with diverse teams, customers, internal and external partners.
Knowledge of MoL etching of Dual Stress Liner and Contact Module is preferred
Knowledge of LAM Kiyo and TEL JiOx / Vigus is preferred
Experience and understanding of high volume manufacturing is preferred.
Understanding of FEOL and BEOL integration is a plus.
