Developer Experience (DX) Team’s mission is to empower and inspire ISVs and technical audiences to unlock new and unique opportunities across Azure, Cognitive Service, ML, IoT, Office 365, Windows, SQL and Visual Studio.

Therefore, Developer Experience (DX) Teams is looking for a technical professional with deep and broad Cloud compete knowledge (for example Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, IBM Softlayer, Rackspace) as well as strong communication skills. Your role is to ignite interest of technical audiences (Developers, Students, Startups) to develop applications and services on our platform and to drive early adoption with selected customers and partners and scale through technical community engagement.

You will focus on delivering compelling sessions, demos (Hands-on Labs) at events, hackathons and meetups to evangelize our Azure Cloud portfolio. Furthermore, you will be leading Architecture Design Sessions (ADSs) and Proof of Concepts (POCs), helping customers identify and articulate the business opportunity and propose and validate solution architectures.

You will need to demonstrate deep technical knowledge and experience in developing applications and services across Microsoft devices and different cloud platforms. You will have technical expertise and skills to build and maintain relationships with customers and partners by helping them solve their complex technical problems and chart their application’s architectural direction. In addition, you will work with communities and influencer to increase their mindshare and adoption of cloud and developer technologies.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Drive technical engagement and early adoption with selected customers and partners leading to locally relevant wins of new Microsoft platform technologies. This includes early engagement via workshops, labs, and hackathons as well as direct joint work with partners/customers.

  • Develop relationships with key influential faculty at targeted Compute Science universities; help them build courseware on Azure. Engage with student developers via hackathons to inspire the adoption of Microsoft platforms technologies. In addition, partner with Audience Evangelism Managers to deliver successful Imagine Program.

  • Drive in-person technical engagement and help startups ecosystem to be successful with Microsoft Azure

  • Participate in community conversations, including agnostic and OSS, either directly or in partnerships with MVPs and RDs. Develop rich engagements aimed at different cloud platforms communities such as Azure, Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud, and actively engage in Open Source Software technologies communities and projects rooted in the Hadoop ecosystem, container-based technologies and cross-platform development environments.

  • Build long-lasting relationships with technical influencers to further broaden advocacy in the market.

Experiences Required: Education, Key Experiences, Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated deep technical developer capabilities in applications and services

  • Proven contributions to open source projects

  • Strong knowledge of application development practices and a track record of working closely with development team

  • Keen analytical skills that enable comprehension and resolution of complex business and technical issues

  • Good communication and presentation skills. Strong interest and ability to engage both small and large technical audience through public presentations/speaking.

  • Proven experience working with 3rd party communities, social media and blogging desired

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in software development.

  • Good decision making skills, conflict resolution, and follow through with customers and partners

  • BS/BA degree

Technical Skills:

  • Expert Level knowledge in at least two of the following cloud platforms (Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, IBM Softlayer, Rackspace)

  • Deep technical expertise in GNU/Linux based environments

  • Broad experience in at least three of the following programming languages and runtimes (Java, Go, Ruby, Python, Javascript/Node.js, .NET Core, PHP, Perl, Elixier, Rust)

  • Deep understanding and knowledge of distributed systems concepts in the area of Replication, Partitioning, Transactions, Consistency and Consensus
